Hi. We’re the Pammers.

My dad and I have been talking about biking across the country for over 20 years now. This summer we decided to finally do it. Follow our progress here.

Road Trip Day 1 - Raleigh, NC to Nashville, TN

Goodbye to Raleigh, our home for the last 3 months and our favorite location in our travels so far. We enjoyed all the outdoor activities including hiking, cycling, pickleball, and disc golf while also having our choice of fun events in the Triangle cities. Urban or country, Raleigh had it all. We also met a lot of great people and realized we enjoy college towns with lots of young people who kept us young at heart.

Yesterday, we packed, washed our mobile home (i.e. our car), and put our stuff in storage. Now we have two storage units, one in NC and a much larger one in Florida. Of course, we don’t have a home. Someday, we will settle down, but for now we enjoy creating new experiences and having a lot of stuff often gets in the way of fun adventures,

Typing in San Diego as our destination into Google Maps let us know that we had 2426 mile to go and 37 hours of driving time. Neither Robin nor I have ever driven close that that distance in our lives. We drove 600 miles today with one 15 minute stop for snacks. Talking, listening to pod casts, and seeing the scenery kept us busy. Time and miles flew by. I am sure driving will feel like a chore in the coming days, but it felt fine today. Thanks for reading.
